Hand-carved 18th century solid oak wedding armoire from

the Normandy region of France.

Richly carved on the front side with rubans & flowers. 

The carvings depicted were intended to extend health and

happiness to the newlyweds. 

Has a cornice in "Chapeau de gendarme" (French constable's hat)
